I just got back from AZ. My cousin got married Sat and asked me to do the cake. This is the final result. Madison and I actually did the cake. She doesn't like doing the fondant so that's my job. Mad hand painted all the flowers because after she spray painted them they were purple..no can do for a black and white wedding. Well, let me go back...my cousin got married at a resort near their home which is not close to the girls' or my parents home it's about an hour away. Seeing how it's so hard to transport cakes, my cousin was nice enough to get us a room there at the resort to finish the cake. We had them covered but everything else still needed to be done. It was a really nice room with a full kitchen..just the space we needed! So with the wedding starting at 5 we had to be done with the cake at 4:15. Madison did an amazing job painting those flowers (over a hundred) in just hour. They were still wet when she put them on the cake and we forgot to tell the servers to be careful because they wouldn't be dry! Oh well. Luckily I saw no one with black foodcolor on them but my cousin did say there were some little kids with black all over their mouths...oops! We were pretty pleased with the cake except for a few spots and some settling of the weight of the top cakes. I'm getting better at the fondant so one day when I am a famous cake decorator I can charge those big bucks!!! ok probably not but I still have fun making cakes. Thank you Madison!!!
