Father's Day

So I didn't post anything for my Dad on Father's Day but here it is a day late.  This picture of my dad represents him to a T.  Yes there are a few things missing but let me tell you why this picture tells so much of him.  The word on his hat is "Upale".  For those of you who need help you pronounce it oo-pa-lay.  This is his favorite word.  Does it have a meaning?  I don't really know. But I do know that he uses it to say "oops", "oh my goodness", "wow".  So you see it has many meanings.  He's is famous for this word too.  Next is the binoculars and where he is in the picture. This is the Luke Air Force Base air show.  We LOVE airshows because my parents would always take us when we were growing up.  My dad loves war planes.  He has a collection of them and it's quite good too.  Anyway, binoculars are just a necessity when you go to an airshow and you could always count on my dad to remember to take them.  Next are the chairs or the fact that he's carrying the chairs.  He never let my mom carry them.  He did all the carrying.  Even with us kids (and now grown) he still insists on carrying things for us.  He still lifts weights and claims he's "buffy".  He's never without his watch and it's always been gold.  And lastly the mustache.  Every once in a while he would shave his mustache but it seems he's always had one.  Anyway, that describes him.  He's helpful, goes the extra mile for us kids and his grandkids and great grands too, he's passionate about planes and his family.  He does anything for us but worries too much about us too.  But that's my dad.  He's goofy too!!!  I miss my dad.  He's not a long talker on the phone but it's nice when I do talk to him.  I love my dad.  Happy Father's Day!!

This was taken on my dad's 70th birthday last year.
