Not all our girls were there. We were missing 5 active girls. :(

A Sad Day For Me
Yesterday I was released from the best calling in the world...Young Women President. After two years of service I got the boot. Not really though because now I'm 1st Counselor in the Relief Society. It was a day of tears, mixed feelings, peace, and smiles. I love the young women in our ward just as I have in my past wards. They are good girls trying to do what's right and figuring out their lives and their testimonies. Some know and some are still figuring it out and that's cool. Wouldn't it be nice if we as adults had it all figured out? I know Looking at my past young women who are married and having children, I think of where they were at my girls' ages in the Forney Ward and I see choices made that helped them get to where they are today. The past girls are doing great things...being wives, mothers, teachers, going to school, studying music, coaching, some played sports on scholarships, some with academic scholarships, graduated from college, they serve in Primary and Young Women, and so much more. The Forney Ward girls have so many good things ahead of them, they have such great potential. I know "my" girls are going to do good things in their lives. I hope they continue making good choices to get them there. Young Women will always have a special place in my heart and I will continue to pray for them.
Now, my focus is going to be on the women of the Forney Ward. Don called us the older Young Women presidency. We have great women in our ward too. I am looking forward to getting to know them better. My challenge is to get out of my comfort zone and my shyness (although some people don't think I'm shy) but I really am. I'm not a talker. I'm a listener. Change is hard and change is good. I do have big shoes to fill but we have a good president and I also get to work with my former 1st counselor in the yw. Now, if I can just figure out was Relief Society is....haha just kidding! But seriously, I haven't gone to RS in probably 20 years!! Ok so maybe I went a couple years in there but that's pushin it. I will now say RS is Great!

I bet your gonna do GREAT at Relief Society. Its hard being released from a calling that you love, but I'm sure you'll love this one just as much as YW:) Good luck:)
it is so sad to see you leave YW you were GREAT in there - but RS ladies are still just teenaged girls - with a few more numbers added to their age! You will be awesome in there too!
Thanks guys!! I appreciate your comments! :)
I have had the same experience... almost identical. Now I am the RS Pres in my ward and I have to tell you, you do grow to love the women. RS is changing... going back to its roots. It's wonderful. We are just all women who are on the same path... I could go on and on, but you have just the gifts that are needed in your ward and your love of the YW proves that. Congratulations!!! You will do a great job!
