Yesterday, we had to get rid of our Baby Face. She was such a good dog and very smart too! She pushed and pushed by getting out of the yard every hour of every day and sometimes all night long. We had electric wiring around the back 4 acres but when storms would come, somehow the electrical box wouldn't work. Baby Face was the only one with a collar because she would dig out. The others learned that the wire was there and they figured they wouldn't push it. Well, having fixed all the holes, she figured that she didn't need to dig, she could jump over the fence. She started jumping along the gate area which doesn't have the barb wire. When Don fixed it so she can't jump out that way, she found another spot, and another. At 5 am yesterday, our nice neighbor called to tell us that she was barking at his back door! How the heck she got over there is a mystery! So, Don and I got up and tried to get her back into our yard. We got her in only to watch her figure out a good spot to jump out. Ugh! We couldn't just let her roam the neighborhood and we needed a new box the the electric fencing which would cost over 200 big ones!!! Finally Don got her in the barn and locked her in a stall until we could take her in. It was such a sad day. She looked so scared sitting in the dog carrier in back of the truck. She had come such a long way from when she first came to us.
Baby Face and her sister, Stickers, were dumped on our corner. They were puppies, oh probably around 6 months or so. Stickers was ok but Baby Face was afraid of people. It took her a long time to warm up to us. Even now, or before she left us, she would stay away from people who came over. Our neighbors (the ones who called us) volunteers to have them spayed so we could keep them. They really are nice neighbors. I taught her how to sit but that really was the only time she was a good listener. She was a good climber too. Not only could she jump the fence, she climbed them too. I watched her! I should know! But she is one of my favorite dogs. Look at her face in the pictures! Is that not a face you could love?! It's sad to go outside and not see her out there. She'll be missed but I hope someone adopts her who has wide open fields so she can roam around. She really is a great dog. Bye Baby Face!

That is so sad. I'm not a big dog person, but somehow they weasel their way into your hearts and it's so hard to let them go. Baby Face does have a sweet face and hopefully somone will see it and fall in love and has LOTS of space so Baby Face can run, jump and bark!
Oh sad, but what can you do? I'm sure someone great will adopt her:)
